You chose a Pillar, built a strategy, published your content, now what?
Once you have content live on your site, the next step is to measure your results. DemandJump gives you real data about your performance that you can use to track your Pillar success.
Tracking Your Pillar
Using the Pillar Trends Dashboard, you can see week-over-week tracking of your performance. This dashboard includes a variety of features such as:
- Top 100 Keyword Rank Trends
- This graph shows you all the keywords you are ranking for related to your selected Pillar topic.
- Each color represents which position you are ranking. Blue means top 10, green is 11-20, yellow is 21-30, and red is 31+.
- 1st Page Keyword Rank Trends
- This graph breaks down the keywords in the top 10 positions to show you how many keywords are ranking in position 1, 2, 3, and so on.
- Position Trends by Week
- This chart has the same data as the graphs but allows you to more easily look at specific keywords and see their weekly changes.

Tips for Viewing Your Pillar Trends
Set the right Pillar. Make sure you are looking at the correct data by checking the Pillar Topic box is set to the pillar you want to view data for. Depending on your subscription, you can only have a certain amount of Pillar Topics set on the platform at one time.
Narrow down the data. The “Keyword” box allows you to narrow down the data using search logic words such as contains, doesn’t contain, etc. The “Updated Date” box allows you to narrow down or widen the date range of data shown.
Download the data. Data can be saved by clicking the 3 dots in the top right corner of any chart or graph. This allows you to save and share the information with people who may not be users on the platform.
- Pro Tip: I always like to click the “Advanced Data Options” drop down and set “Number of rows to include” as “custom.” This will automatically grab 5000 rows, or you can adjust it to what you need. I typically leave it at 5000 so it grabs all of the data instead of a partial report.
Fluctuations are completely normal. It is normal for there to be some dips and rises in your Pillar data because the internet is constantly changing with new content and updates.
- What you want to see is a general up-and-to-the-right trending pattern month-over-month or even quarter-over-quarter to make sure you are on the right track.
Keywords in Pillar Trends are not stagnant. They could exist in the Pillar Topic Network one day and fall off the next. This is also completely normal and does not mean that you shouldn’t have written about that topic.
- To get a better sense of which keywords are ranking or not, use “Tracked Keywords” alongside Pillar Trends to give you more consistent data. You can enter all the keywords you choose to write about as a keyword list to make sure you are keeping tabs on those words.
Tracking Your Relevant Keywords
The Keyword Trends dashboard is very similar to Pillar Trends, but these are words that you manually enter into DemandJump to track. Data includes:
- All Keywords - gives you a look at all keywords that are ranking in position 1 - 100 on Google
- Page 1 Keywords - any ranking on page one
- Top 3 Keywords - ranking position 1-3
- Top 10 Keywords - ranking position 1 - 10
- Top 20 Keywords - ranking position 1 - 20
- Question Ranking - question-specific keywords ranking in position 1-100
- Keyword Ranking - keywords excluding questions ranking from 1 - 100
Tips for Creating Keyword Lists
You can create multiple keyword lists by going to the bottom left and clicking “Settings” then “Keywords.” There you can create your lists.
If you would like to exclude certain words from your data, you can also create a blocklist.
